Tibet Overland Tour drives overland from Kathmandu to Lhasa across the Himalayas by way of the incredible Arniko Highway that connects Nepal with Tibet. Enjoy fabulous mountain scenery enrooted, visit mystical Buddhist monasteries of Tashilungpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse, and drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake. In Lhasa visit the famous Potala and Norbulinkha palaces, the great Drepung Monastery and walk through the bustling Barkor Bazaar before flying back to Kathmandu (or onward to China). Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Pre-departure meeting and Tibet visa process. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Zhangmu
Drive to Kodari (border of Nepal and Tibet) in the early morning from Kathmandu. After doing custom formalities at immigration office of Nepal and Tibet at friendship bridge, we continue drive to Zhangmu. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Zhangmu to Xegar (4350m)
Drive to Xegar crossing Nyalamu pass (3,800m) and Lalung la pass (5,050m). This drive offers fantastic view of the high mountain including Mount Everest (8,848m).Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: Xegar to Shigatse (3900m)
Drive to Shigatse and after noon visit the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 06: Shigatse to Gyantse (3900m)
In the morning, visit the FREE MARKET in Shigatse then after proceed to Gyantse and visit Phalkor Monastery and Khumbum Stupa. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 07: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m)
Drive to Lhasa, crossing 2 passes The Karo La (5010m) and Kamba La (4794m) and Yamdrok Tso Lake. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 08: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa Sightseeing tour of Sera Monastery, Jhokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar and O/nt at Hotel
Day 09: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
Visit Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palace and Drepung Monastery. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 10: Lhasa - Gongkar Airport- Kathmandu (1350M)
Transfer to Gongkar airport as departure on you is schedule with Air China's flight to Kathmandu. Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11: Transfer to Tribhuwan Internation Airport for your onward destination.
